Vampire Diaries

As everyone knows, I watch Vampire Diaries religiously.  I love it.  It's an amazing, well rounded show with great acting, music and production.  Not to the mention the keep you on your toes storyline.

Well, tonight is the winter finale and there will be no episodes until January.  And I'm freaking out.  I know that tonight will end with a very scary and surprising cliffhanger that might send me into shock.  And maybe even a heart attack.

Just wanted to put out my thoughts before this crazy night starts.

Might I mention that I should be studying for my finals. Uh.. Yeah... Might not happen.

Lost in Austen

I love Jane Austen.  I love the books.  I love the movies.  I love books about the books and movies about the movies.  I own Jane Austen Book Club and really enjoy listening to them talking about all of Austen's amazing novels.  In 2009, the British mini television series, Lost in Austen, was released on DVD in the U.S. and somehow I just heard about it.

Lost in Austen is about Amanda Price, played by Jemima Rooper, is a young woman living in London and grew up reading Pride and Prejudice and loves the romance of it all.  She would rather spend her nights curled up with Austen then spend time with her not very nice boyfriend.  One day she hears something in the bathroom and discovers Elizabeth Bennett, who tells her of a doorway that leads between present day London and The Bennett's home in Victorian England.  Elizabeth urges her to go through the door and they end up swapping places.  Amanda is then immersed into Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and with Elizabeth's absence is required to help set the story the way it's supposed to go.  But because of Amanda's presence everything changes and she has to try and realign the characters with the people they are really supposed to be with.  This short but amazing mini series, is very funny and sorta like a train wreck to watch.  You just can't look away.  Because I love Pride and Prejudice it was very entertaining to watch how everything goes wrong and how Amanda learns to be in Austen's world.  I would recommend watching this to anyone who loves Austen.  As an avid reader, I can't help but think about how amazing it would be if I could be sucked into my favorite books.

Wake: A suspenceful romance.

I recently got Netflix and watching movies instantly on my computer is my new favorite past time.  And has sense become my new obsession.  As I quickly made my instant queue grow from 1 to 25 in just a couple minutes, I started to think of other movies and television shows I enjoy.  As Vampire Diaries is my current television obsession, I started looking at other movies that the 3 main stars had been in.  Nina Dobrev didn't really star in anything else that caught my attention so I moved onto Paul Wesley.  What I really wanted to watch was ABC Family's mini series Fallen but that was only watchable through DVD.  Deeply saddened, I moved onto Ian Somerhalder.  This is when I came across the movie Wake.  With tags of romance, comedy, and suspense I was intrigued enough to watch the trailer.  After finding that captivating I waited until I had enough time and watched the whole movie and was glad I did.

Wake is about Carys, played by Bijou Phillip, who is a woman who has an odd fascination with death and funerals and ends up crashing the funeral of a dead woman.  When saying goodbye to her "loved one" the woman's engagement ring falls off and into Carys' hand.  Before she can discretely slip the ring back on, the woman's fiance, Tyler (Ian Somerhalder), comes up to her, inquiring on how she knew the deceased.  After awkwardness, lies and oddly place flirting, Carys and Tyler strike up an odd bond and friendship.  They soon become romantically involved and she is made aware that Tyler is suspected of murdering his dead fiance.

While the movie isn't exactly the best, it's amazingly witty and really great.  I've never heard of the lead but she was quirky and worked well in this movie.  Ian Somerhalder does very well in the role of a devoted fiance who just can't understand how he's falling for someone so soon after his love's death.  My initial thoughts after watching this movie where that it was bizarre but very, very charming and I know I'll be watching it again in the future.  Give this hidden gem a chance, I think it's worth it.

So long, No See

Sorry, I've been so absent.  I'm going to try and be better.

My fic, Forever Love, is going great.  I'm about to start working on chapter 6 in the next couple of days.

I've been reading a lot of things lately.  One of them being The Misapprehension of Bella Swan by hunterhunting.  I might be one of the last people to have read this, but I love it!  It is amazingly funny, and has hot hot HOT lemons.  If any of you have read this charming story let me know what your thoughts are.

Here's the link:  http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5716060/1/The_Misapprehension_of_Bella_Swan

That's all for now.

With Teeth by TalulaBlue

Summary:  Edward is a 27-year-old alcoholic/addict struggling with his recovery. Bella is a 23-year-old who's moved back home after college. This fic chronicles how they meet, fall in love, and struggle with the complexities of their relationship. Not nearly as maudlin as it sounds (I hope).

This is one of my favorites right now.  TalulaBlue does an amazing job and I love her writing style.  She is incredibly realistic and doesn't dramatize or downplay things.  It is so nice not to have to read through the bullshit that a lot of authors put into their fics.

I absolutely love this Edward as well, I've always had a thing for damaged/shattered boys and I'm rooting for him so much!  Bella is always an interesting issue for me in stories, because she is one of those characters I never really liked in the actual books.  In With Teeth, I like her and find her a lot more confident than the self-conscious Bella from the actual books.

Right at this moment, Edward and Bella are in a tough spot and I can't wait to see what is going to happen next!

Though this story does have drug use, so if that is something that bothers you than I would skip this fic.

Failure to Thrive by Julesnerd

Failure to Thrive by Julesnerd

Summary from Twilighted.net:
Bella remains sexually unfulfilled after three separate liaisons with “boys” instead of men. Diagnosed as frigid, she is on the verge of giving up on her sexuality.  She encounters Edward Masen, another sexual misfit, and things begin to change.  B/E/AH/AU/OOC.  Rated NC-17 for language and sexual content.
Link:  http://twilighted.net/viewstory.php?sid=6558

I've been reading this story since the beginning and I have to say that it is a refreshing blend of humor and real life problems.  While Bella and Edward's relationship problems are comical most of the time there is an underlying seriousness that is really refreshing.  I find Bella's dreams hilarious.  This is certainly worth a read.

Don't Mess With the Help Contest

I have never entered a contest before but the Don't Mess With the Help Contest is tempting me more than I though was possible.  I have already written three pages with this contest in mind.  This is probably a bad thing since I have yet to submit my completed chapter 3 for Forever Love.

The Don't Mess With the Help Contest, which is being put on by Twi-Fic Promotions, is simply a contest that include two characters:  "the help" and "the employer."  They are allowing any pairing too.

If you want the full details and rules here is the link:  http://www.fanfiction.net/u/2338350

Ashen Skies, A Tainted Genocide by QuestionXisting

Ashen Skies, A Tainted Genocide by QuestionXisting

http://twilighted.net/viewstory.php?sid=9789

Summary from twilighted.net:
The Holocaust. They told us never to forget, and we promised always to remember. But like everything else, it is locked away, and slowly forgotten. The over-population of the Earth is now a high priority.  The situation is critical and it seems like the extermination and genocide of human beings is the only “logical” answer to survival. The shadow of another Holocaust is on the horizon. Edward a confused & troubled military conformant is pressed into doing what is considered “right” and following his heart, knowing that they both would ultimately lead to his demise.

This story is seriously one of my all time favorites.  Even though it is emotionally draining for most people, I love it.  It is beautifully written and you automatically feel for both Edward and Jasper, and even Rosalie at times.  I think this Jasper is one of my all time favorites.  While this might be hard to read because of the tender issues it's about, it is definitely worth it.

Catching Up

Lately, there have been a lot of things going on, but I'm starting to get caught up.

My story Forever Love, is going extremely well.  And what I mean by that is that I have written the entire ending, but not the middle.  But one I wrote the last chapter, chapter 3 came to me easily, so I will be having it up hopefully this week.

What I've been reading lately:

A WHOLE LOT OF STUFF!!!

I have read so much that I can't even list what I have been reading, but I will hopefully posting recs soon.

Answering Bell by ilsuocantante

So I just finished reading ilsuocantante's wonderful fic Answering Bell.

In this fic Bella is a single mother who is still damaged from her painful divorce to her son's father.  Edward has also recently moved back in with his mother after a tragic incident has happened in his family.  When they meet they are instantly drawn to each other and are not sure why.  Bella isn't sure if now is the right time to start something new but she can't ignore Edward and the pull he has on her.

It's amazingly real and heartfelt and all of the characters are amazing and beautifully done.  This is a must read!

Interesting Things Going On

So, as you all know, I LOVE fanfiction, and I'm about to try and submit my first story to twilighted.net

Since I love all you invisible readers so much, I'll give you a little teaser.

"I like to think fondly of the summers that I spent in the small town of Forks, Washington throughout my high school years and I think of her often as well.  Sometimes my memories aren’t fond at all.  I would never forget her or the time we were together.  Or how it ended.  If that’s what I would call it.  An ending."

Summary:  Every summer Edward and his family spend their time in the small town of Forks and he's usually not excited about it.  Bella visits her father in the summer and usually doesn't mind.  They meet at a bonfire the eve of 4th of July and quickly become friends.  As the years pass, they make it back to Forks every summer even though they are apart throughout the rest of the year.  Although they make it back to each other every year while they're apart have to re-convince themselves that it's worth the wait and that they should stay together.

It's going to be called Forever Love and by me, sheynondoah.  I'm hoping to put it on Twilighted.net but if they reject it, I'll put it on fanfiction.net

With Teeth by TalulaBlue

So, I'm finally getting caught up on my fanfiction and I'm now up to date with all of the chapters of With Teeth by TalulaBlue.  It's an amazingly angsty fic without angst.

Here is the summary from twilighted.net:

Edward is a 27-year-old alcoholic/addict struggling with his recovery. Bella is a 23-year-old who's moved back home after college. This fic chronicles how they meet, fall in love, and struggle with the complexities of their relationship. Not nearly as maudlin as it sounds (I hope).
Rated NC-17 for graphic (and sometimes non-romantic) sex, drug and alcohol use and abuse, profane language, and brief (very brief) suicidal ideation (although NO suicide attempts). No sexual assault, no cutting.

I promise it is worth it, I'm eagerly waiting the next chapter.

Lords of Gangland by Lee Cullen

I'm recommending a fic, which hasn't happened in awhile, so here is goes.

It's called Lords of Gangland by Lee Cullen and it's not usually what I would read.  I don't remember how I came across it but it's on Twilighted and here is the link:  http://twilighted.net/viewstory.php?sid=5550

The summary that is on twilighted.net is:
Edward Cullen is a hot, bad, gangsta fella who is a new kid in the Chicago underworld. But refusing to pay his respects to the big, ruling Godfather, his arrival is not welcomed. Bella is said Godfather’s estranged daughter who fled his father’s world in an attempt at a normal life.
Both men keep clashing and bumping heads, Edward’s power grows rapidly, men are tired of the old regime, and so a sort of gangster war ensues. Bella is caught in the mayhem when she becomes a prisoner in the hands of her father’s most hated enemy and rival. With Bella as a prisioner, Edward knows her father will have no choice but to do as he is told.
But does Edward have other motives to capture Bella?

It does have some very controversial topics and usually I wouldn't have continued reading but it's just so good.  I promise it get's really good.  It is also very angsty so get ready for that.

Hope you enjoy!

Fool Me Once

Okay, so I just watched the new Vampire Diaries and I'm going insane!  It was incredibly good and I thought that Elena and Damon's new found togetherness is amazing.  I'll be posting a full little blurb about my thoughts after I watch it a second time.  I always like to watch it in the morning again so that I can absorb everything.

Bite On This

As I said yesterday, I'm listening to Bite On This, a Vampire Diaries podcast.  I got to episode 6 and was so frustrated/intrigued that I started taking notes to share with you.

Bite On This
Episode #6:  The Transitions
What I find most frustrating about this podcast is that I often disagree with the hosts.  About almost everything.  I think the show is hosted by Angela and Willy, if I get wrong let me know.
One of the main things that bothered me is that they said that the way Elena finds out about Stefan being a vampire was like Twilight.  I do understand that they are saying how she put everything together and discovered it herself is the same.  In Twilight when Bella finds out about Edward and his nightly habits, she's completely fine with it  Elena however, is not okay, and doesn't want anything to do with Stefan and the harm she thought he was inflicting on Mystic Falls.  Elena's reaction is much more realistic.

The one thing we do agree on in this episode is about Ian Somerhalder being amazing as Damon.  His delivery of the lines is hilarious and well worth watching, repeating and taking note of.

Episode #7:  Snatch, Eat, Erase
Okay, the problem I had with the hosts in this episode was that they said that Vickie and Matt haven't really been acting like siblings until this episode.  But I'm pretty sure that Matt acts protective over Vickie from the very first episode.  It was just the major thing that bothered me.

None of my other comments on these episodes are worth mentioning.  I'm about to start listening to episode #9 and we'll see what I think about that.

I know that most people will be frustrated with my negative view but it's the only Vampire Diaries podcast that I've seen, if you have any that are worth listening to send me the link.  I do enjoy some of their opinions so I'll keep listening until something better comes along.  Or at least until I get caught up on the episodes.

I have a bunch of podcasts that I'm behind on so once I get some free time I'll post my thoughts.

CW has released another clip but it isn't on youtube yet and my computer won't let me watch it on the CW website so I have to wait.  Which sucks but all of you should go check it out.

A Nice Sunny Day in Seattle

It was a beautiful sunny day in Seattle and I even wore a skirt (which I never do)... Well I wore it for the first half of the day, I abandoned it after my first round of class.  When I got home though, I changed into my sweats so I could lay around and do my lovely homework.

I haven't heard any other news so nothing to report... Except I recently started reading The Vampire Diaries and I have to say I am actually liking the show better.

So I've been looking for a good Vampire Diaries podcast and the only one on Itunes is Bite On This.  I'm listening to all of the back episodes right now, and it's okay.  I'm not very fond of it but I hope I warm up to it because there are no other ones at the moment.

It's true, Vampire Diaries is going on a hiatus after next weeks episode.  The break will be six weeks long and a new episode will be released on March 25. The reason it is going on break is because of the Olympics and then they are staying on break until March 25 so that the season finale will be on the may sweeps week.  It's a good plan for ratings and to insure it will be picked up for the next season but I'm still trying to figure out how I'll stay alive without new episodes.  :(

I hope everyone else is experiencing lovely weather, wherever they are.

Vampire Diaries Episode 13: Children of the Damned

So, like I said, I am now obsessed with Vampire Diaries.  It's pretty addciting.  So this past thursday a new episode was on and it was amazing.... I won't talk to much about it, but it was really good and kind of shocking.

Vampire Diaries is going on a break after next week's episode for six weeks, which is rather unfortunate.  I hate when tv shows go on break.  It just drives me insane.

Other than that, I've been pretty sick lately so I've been hiding out in my room trying to get better. :D

Tonight

Okay, so tonight the episode Children of the Damned is on at eight (my time)! I'm super excited and will prolly be posting my thoughts either tonight or tomorrow!

The Vampire Diaries

Does anyone watch this because I'm obsessed with this show now.

I watched all eleven of the episodes that were out in one sitting.  I was captivated and now I can't stay away.

I'm in love with Stefan the main boy and he's a vampire.  What a surprise.  Anyone who is reading this should go watch it now because it will be a common focus for me for awhile.  The story is so gripping and I love it.

I'm already super excited for the next episode, it airs every Thursday on the CW.

Do parents mean to be demeaning?

As a senior in highschool I still deal with parents a lot.  I'm usually ignored by most of my family because I'm so independent.  It just seems that most of my interactions with my parents have ended in unhappiness.  I'm not a PERFECT kid but I stay out of trouble and I do what they tell me to.  It just seems like they are freakin out cause I'll be moving out soon.  I just wish they would relax.

Confused

I'm really confused right now, cause I made all these changes to my life last year so that I would be happier and more successful but it isn't really working.  I mean, sometimes I think I'm happier but I don't really have any close friends right now and I wish I did.  I guess I'm just super lonely and it's really hard to find a way out of it.

Is Screamo Still Popular?

When I was just arriving to the terrible years of middle school the wave of emo hair and music hit popularity.  Along with it came the screamo music.  Songs filled with men screaming words at the top of their lungs that you can't understand.  I was wondering if people still listen to screamo?

I have always been a fan of lyrics and the message behind a song.  So screamo was never really the thing for me.  One song I do remember liking was Note to Self by From First to Last.  I assume that there is still a musical fanbase for the screamo genre.  I just have moved out of  it.

If any of you invisible readers listen to screamo send me the good stuff.

Motion City Soundtrack's New Song

So Spin just put up Motion City Soundtrack's new song from their new album My Dinosaur that comes out on January 19... I really like it and I'm SUPER excited for the album release!

Taylor and Taylor

I just wanted to let everyone know that Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner broke up!  That's urgent new right there.

Well, apparently they were never actually dating.... At least according to Buck Hollywood.

I'll write the full story in the next couple days...

Twigasm

As odd as it is, I love reading Twilight fanfiction, so I'm always eager for recommendations.  I usually do okay on my own but I'm always searching for the good stuff.  Some of fanfiction's best writers came together over the summer and created a podcast that talks about the best fanfiction stories out there.

The girls of Twigasm are some of the funniest people in the world.  So if you are 18 or over and enjoy a good steamy story or listening to hilarious twilight talk check out their blog.  http://twigasm.blogspot.com/

You can also subscribe on itunes for their podcast.

Julie & Julia

So I finally got around to watching the, now out on DVD, comedy Julie & Julia, with Amy Adams and Meryl Streep.  I actually enjoyed watching this very light movie.  It wasn't amazing but it was a nice way to spend an evening.  I thought that the plot wasn't complex to watch but both Amy Adams and Meryl Streep were very charming characters and I loved watching them go through their lives.

What I thought was very entertaining was that Julia Child's sister, played by Jane Lynch, is also the cheer leading coach from Glee.  Some of their personalities were similar but it was very interesting to see Jane Lynch as someone other than the manipulative and harsh Sue Sylvester.

Buck Hollywood's New Moon Review

Having read all of the Twilight Saga and having seen Twilight and New Moon at midnight you could call me a twilight fan.  But I also have a lot of issues with the series.  So because of that I enjoy listening to people make fun of it too.

Like most people in the world, I'm also obsessed with YouTube videos.  On of my favorite YouTube stars to watch is Buck Hollywood's show What the Buck.  One of his recent videos was a very detailed review of New Moon.  If you haven't seen this, you must watch it NOW:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1fMDeIC6Zo

Okay, so I LOVED this video.  Buck Hollywood has the perfect attitude to see New Moon.  Like him, I also was laughing through the whole movie even though I prolly shouldn't have been.  I also agree that this movie would have be ten times better as a musical.  Couldn't you just see Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson dancing around and singing heartbreaking songs about their tortured souls.  Seriously, that would make it ten times more entertaining.

Comment and tell me what you thought about New Moon, Buck Hollywood's review, or anything in particular.

Happy New Years!

Just wanted to say happy New Year to everyone around.  I hope that everyone had a good time and was safe.  Let's have a wonderful 2010!
